GNA STUDIOS INC

About us
Bio:
Created by an artist born in Bushwick, Brooklyn, just walking distance from the new physical studio location. Gna Studios started off by providing free art classes in several after school programs in New York City working with all age groups.
We want to continue to serve and bring art to our community and youth. We have been fortunate enough to work with some great schools, artists, artisans and those with a peaking interest in Art. The population that we have worked with over the past 6 years have given us only positive feedback. Our art events, classes and workshops have been enjoyable and therapeutic for all those who participated so we want to do MORE!
Mission:
The mission is to help support local artists build and enhance their portfolios, whether through classes, mentoring, supplies to create their art and opportunities to display and showcase their artistic skills. We want to provide artists of all kinds with the support and platform to create, express themselves and sell their art to help kill the stereotype of a starving artist.
We also want to showcase and use art as a therapeutic outlet to non-artists.
So far we have:
-
Created a space for artists to showcase their talents and host their own events for free.
-
Provided a platform for makers and artists to come together to network and sell their works by hosting several Pop Up events.
-
Worked with over 200 students, artists, makers and community members (primarily of color) through art classes, artist showcases, pop-up events, workshops, and classes.
-
Taught over 100 free Art classes to New York City youth
-
Been visited by award winning Brazilian Visual Artist Fabio Daher twice!..and he plans to visit again
-
Moved from floating volunteer artist program to obtaining a studio space
-
Hosted dozens of community events supporting the arts and local makers
-
Taught art techniques to youth and non artists
-
Lived up to the mission and steadily expanded
